Mrs. Alma Alberta Solomon, 85, for many years active in the work of the Salvation Army in New Castle, died Tuesday in the Henry County hospital after a week's illness. Her home was at 2422 State St.
Mrs. Solomon had been a worker in the Salvation Army her for 35 years; she had been a resident of this county for 64 years.
Surviving are two sons, Lawrence of New Castle and Ernest of New Orleans; 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Salvation Army chapel. Capt. Ellis of Shelbyville, formerly of the Salvation Army in New Castle, will conduct rites. Burial will be in Hillsboro cemetery.
Friends may call at the Davis Smith-Couden funeral home after 7 oclock tonight.
