Obit: Passes After 60 years in County- Alvira Cordelia Beebe died Monday at age 79 years at her home, after residing here for the past sixty years. Alvira C. Cross was born in York State in July, 1849 and unitied in marriage November 26, 1885 to Orlando E. Beebe of Saginaw. When about the age of nineteen Alvira walked from Greenville, MI to Midland Co with her parents, Mr and Mrs Charles Cross. The family then built themselves a rude cabin on the banks of the Pine River. Surviving the aged lady are her husband, three sons, Charles Swift of Lee Twp, Judson Swift of Flint, Newton Beebe of Lee Twp; and one daughter, Mrs Mary Thimmons of Mt Haley, also two sisters.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec fifth from the Gordonville church with Rev. Brooks of the Chuch of God officiating, and burial in the Homer Cemetery. Those who acted as pall bearers were: Charles Swift, Judson Swift, Newton Beebe, Robert Orr, John Thimmons and Charles Swift Jr. Those who attended the funerall services from away were: Mr Judson Swift, Mr Charles Swift and Mrs Richard Eldridge all of Mt Morris, Mr and Mrs C Kelly and Mr and Mrs D Cunningham of Flint.- Midland Republican 12-06-1928 page 6.
