William Claude Callantine, 68, died Saturday at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was born at Maudlow, May 17, 1896, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas T. Callantine, and had spent most of his life at Maudlow farming. He also worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 17 years. He retired in 1960 and moved to Manhattan. He was married to the former Rowena Koch, Sept. 22, 1937 at Livingston. Survivors include the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Charlotte) Baker, Bozeman, Mrs. John (Charon) Clawson, Manhattan, and Eva Kay Callantine. Also two stepsons, George Cooper and Warren Whitsell of Manhattan. Five children by a previous marriage also survive Callantine. They are Mrs. Philip (Elsie) Young, Bozeman, Mrs. Bob (Genevieve) Adams, Livingston, Mrs. Oran (Ojiel) Wilson, Burkburnett, Texas, Tommy Callantine, Three Forks, Wayne Callantine, Superior. Two children, Marie and Patricia preceded him in death. Survivors also include six sisters and a brother: Mrs. Martha Urguhart, Mrs. Ralph (Neva) Orput of Chico, Calif.; Mrs. Rex (Mabel) Orput, Paradise, Calif., Mrs. W. S. (Nona) McGauth, Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Ormund (Laura) Livingston, San Bernadina, Calif., Mrs. Eva Tilley, and Roy Callantine of Bozeman. Also 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.
