Bessie A. James, daughter of Frank and
Almyra James was born July 14, 1894 at
Beattie, Kansas and passed away at the
Community Memorial Hospital, Marysville
Kansas, May 10, 1971 at the age of 76 years,
9 months, and 26 days.
Bessie was married to Robert Wolfgang,
September 1, 1915 and they were the parents
of eight sons and five daughters. The had
resided at their present home in Beattie since
December 1967 after having resided in the
country for a number of years.
Preceding her in death was her parents, two
brothers, two sisters, and two children.
She is survived by her husband, Robert
Wolfgang of the home; her children, Harold
Wolfgang, Springdale, Arkansas, Mrs. John
(Beulah) Larmore, Souix Falls, South Dakota,
Robert Wolfgang, Long Beach, California,
Mrs. Leon (Ruth) Blanchard, Central Point,
Oregon, Mrs. George J. (Madeline) Oberfell,
Kansas City, Missouri, Edwin Wolfgang and
Gerald Wolfgang, Souix Falls, South Dakota,
Donald Wolfgang, Herkimer, Kansas, Howard
Wolfgang, Lewis, Iowa, Mrs. Norman (Betty)
Ramsey, Concordia, Kansas, and Shirley
Wolfgang of the home; twenty-nine grand-
children and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 13,
1971 at 2:00 p.m. at the Beattie Methodist
Church with the Reverend Jerrold R. Harnden
officiating.
Music for the services was provided by Mrs.
Ed FitzGerald and Mrs. B.J. Heeney.
Pallbearers were George Studer, Joe Spiller,
Dan Studer, Bert Hillis, Emmett Byers,
and Lloyd Harmon.
Burial was in the Beattie Union Cemetery,
Beattie, Kansas.
