She was a Park Cities resident for 50 years.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ruby McElroy and by her sister Dorothy McElroy Deen.
Survivors include: husband, Wayman Register; daughters, Carolyn Hake and husband Jim of Dallas, Linda Neuenschwander and husband Fred of Austin; son, Alan Register and wife Debbie of Austin; brother, Billy McElroy of Mansfield, LA; grandchildren, Gordon Coffee, Brian Coffee, Leslie Sharrock, and Amy Neuenschwander; step-grandchildren, Cameron Carpenter, Brandon Carpenter and Ryan Carpenter; Ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private entombment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A reception of family and friends will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 24, 2003 in Joyce Hall at Presbyterian Village North, 8668 Skyline Drive, Dallas .
