John E. Lindberg, age 77 and a former resident of Chisago County for many years, was laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery last Saturday following rites held at the First Methodist Church at Lindstrom.

Mr. Lindberg died in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon of the last week at 1:15, the cause of his demise being cancer.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, namely Lester of Shafer and Russell Lindberg of Minneapolis, one daughter, Mrs. C. J. Shope of Midland, PA and many other relatives besides a host of friends.

Born in Fish Lake Township, Chisago County on Oct 6, 1872, the deceased grew up in that locality attending the public school there and interesting himself in the buttermaking trade. He was married to Miss Laura Bursch and spent most of his life in the county in the creamery business as a buttermaker and also serving as a member of the Minnesota State Dairy and Food Dept for 11 years. He served several creameries during his lifetime and was widely known. He had lived during the past 16 years in Minneapolis.

Pallbearers were: 2 brothers, Dr. A. C. and F. A. Lindberg,a nephew Wendell Granquist, Anton Lundholm, Norton Bursch and Robert Bruss.
