She was the daughter of Egbert and Mary A. Henry Burrell.

In Little Falls, July 7th of consumption, Miss M. Carrie Burrell, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Burrell, aged 25 years, 7 months, and 18 days.

The memory of the sweet, joyous, useful life which has thus been closed, will linger long as a rich legacy to those who knew her the best. Not only in her home and among the select few of her intimate friends was she admired and loved, but in a wider circle which included nearly our entire community. As a popular and successful teacher in our Union schools, as a teacher of a large Sabbath School class whom she was earnestly endeavoring by both precept and example to bring to the Savior, as a friend to all who were in trouble, as a beloved member of the circle of society in which she moved, and a constant worker in every good enterprise, Miss Burrell had become a favorite everywhere. The influence of such a life and of such a character cannot be measured - certainly cannot be forgotten by either her intimate friends, her daily associates, or even by her most casual acquaintances.
