Ethel Schlegel, 73, of 2456 Schlegel Road, Moore Township, died Saturday, March 14, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of William H. Schlegel. They were married for 55 years in November.

She was a seamstress in the alterations department of the former Hess's Department Store, Allentown. In the 1960s, she was a teacher at Sacred Heart Parochial School, Bath, and St. James Parochial School, Easton. She also worked at Styvesant Insurance Co., Allentown.

Born in Bushkill Township, she was a daughter of the late Stanley W. and Pauline F. (Snyder) Edwards.

She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Moorestown, where she taught the adult Bible class and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

She was a member and lecturer of Star Grange 993, Moorestown, and a member of the Bethlehem Garden Club and Pocono Herb Society.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Call 7-9 p.m. Monday, George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Moorestown.
