Mrs. Fingar was born on December 10, 1911, in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Elijah Wilbur and Esmer Petty Vaden. She was a member of Woodbine Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Nashville and was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Walter Fingar and wife Mildred of Charleston, and six grandchildren, Libbye Bennett and Linda Miller both of Charleston, Walter Fingar of Hilton Head, SC, Russell Fingar of Charleston, Rachel Ringer of Savannah, GA, and Amy Graves of Charleston.
