Albert David Branstad, 73, died Friday evening at the Forest City hospital where he had been a patient for 6 weeks.
He was born Feb. 16, 1891 at Leland, the son of Peter E. and
M. Betsy Carlson Branstad. He was baptized and confirmed in Our Savior's Lutheran church. Vet of WW I with overseas duty and was honorably discharged in July of 1919. Aug. 14. 1920, he married Emma Jepson at Irving Park Luth. church in Chicago. Ill. In 1928, he entered the Civil Service as rural mail carrier at Leland. When the mail routes merged in 1943, he was transferred to a Forest City mail route. Member of the Imm. Luth church in 1945.
He served on the Forest City rural route until illness in 1950 forced him to retire after a total of 27 years of postal service.
Survivng are his daughter, Mrs. Claire (Betty) Haugen, his wife Emma, four grandchildren, one brother, Elmer of Lake Mills, four sisters, Mrs. William (Mabel) Groath, Mrs. Hazel Anderson, Mrs. Paul (Mina) Kloster, all of Forest City and Mrs. Marion (Edith) Huglen of Leland. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers.
