Obituary: Anne Marion Reavis Weber, 97, formerly of Statesville entered her heavenly home on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Whitestone Masonic and Eastern Star Community in Greensboro.
She was born September 2, 1913, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Richard Marion Spann and Mary Anne Caroline Reavis.
On December 24, 1935, she married the love of her life, Harton Locke Weber, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 25, 1984, after 48 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jettie Reavis Sides; a brother-in-law, Zachariah Privette Sides; a niece, Margaret Faye Sides Kennedy; and a nephew, Ray Kennedy.
She and her husband, Harton, opened Park Place Greenhouses in Statesville in 1952 and operated the business until 1982. Harton passed away in 1984, and Anne entered the Masonic and Eastern Star Home in Greensboro in 1987. She was very active in the activities of the home including arts, crafts, and ceramics. She began a pillow ministry at the home that kept her busy making pillows for patients in the Care Center. She was strong in her faith and steadfast in her resolve to live a life of service to God and His children. Her voice was heard up and down the halls of Whitestone calling out, "I love you." Her sweet smile and acts of love were a true testimony of her Christian character.
She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all those who were touched by the love of this sweet, gentle woman.
