Dot was the daughter of Samuel Major Lawrence & Lottie Clay Holley and the wife of George Houston Aaron Jr.

Dorothy "Dot" Lawrence Aaron, age 72, of 180 Wood Avenue, Danville, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in Meadowlands, Hillsboro, NC.

Born August 17, 1939 in Henry County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Major Lawrence and Lottie Clay Holley Lawrence. She graduated from Whitmell High School and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Aaron was a homemaker and wife to George Houston Aaron, Jr., who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Linda Adams of Danville and Wanda Walker and her husband Tony of High Point, NC; one son: Keith Lawrence Aaron and his wife Janice of Danville; brothers: James Lawrence and his wife Delma, Doug Lawrence and his wife Ruth, Roy Lawrence and his wife Edna, all of Martinsville, Douglas Herndon and his wife Vivian of Dry Fork, and Harold Herndon and his wife of Danville, Jerry Holley of Martinsville; four sisters: Frances Fitzpatrick and her husband Jim of Newport News, VA, Judy Snead and her husband Lawrence of Danville, and June Tate and her husband Nelson of Danville, and Wendy Haymore and her husband Danny, also of Danville; grandchildren: Edie Chumley, Brittany Aaron, Blake Aaron, Amanda Walker, April Powell; great-grandchildren: MacKinzie Rudder and Laci Powell. She was predeceased by her brothers William Lawrence, Larry Holley, and Johnny Holley, and sisters Eliza Rowland, Mitzi Holley, and Gereline Kendrick. She was also predeceased by her foster parents, Anna and Neal Holley and L. Z. and John Harold Herndon.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. R. J. Barber, Jr. will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At other times, they will be at the residence, 180 Wood Avenue, Danville.
