VIENNA - Viola Oldham King, 85, of Vienna, WV, departed this life, December 1, 2002, in the Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. She was born April 7, 1917, in Evans, WV, a daughter of the late Ottie and Lillie (Miller) Oldham. She attended Salem and Glenville Colleges and obtained a teaching degree. She retired in 1974 from teaching with 30 years of service in Jackson and Wood counties. She was a member of the Wood County Retired Teachers Association and a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Vienna. Surviving are a son, Donald G. King of Rohnert Park, CA; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and James Edmonds of Charlotte NC; sister, Faye Ankrum of Evans; grandson, Jay and his wife, Toni Edmonds; great-grandchildren, Landon and Sydney. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles King; brothers, Roy Oldham, Eddie Oldham, Frank Oldham, George Oldham, and John Oldham; sister, Elizabeth, Kinzel. Service will be Thursday, December 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
