Helen Mae (Brant) Decker Beaver, 97, formerly of 9340 Grindstone Hill Rd., Greencastle, PA, currently a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center, Chambersburg, died at 6:55 P.M., Thursday, August 25, 2011. She had been in failing health for six months and critically ill for six weeks. Born February 28, 1914 in Stonebridge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Solom (Faust) Brant and step-daughter of the late Iva (Mayu) Brant. She spent most of her life in Greencastle. Mrs. Beaver attended Lemasters School then graduated from Greencastle Antrim High School with the class of 1931.
She was the widow of Robert C. Decker, Sr., who died on June 2, 1966. She and her second husband, Harry "Ken" Kenneth Beaver, were married on November 15, 1978 in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to her Grindstone Hill Rd. home in 1990. Mr. Beaver died on August 2, 2001. Mrs. Beaver was first employed as a timekeeper by Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, and was then employed by ELM Department Store, Greencastle, as a sales person for 20 years before retiring in 1978. She served as the past president of Greencastle Senior Center, and was a member of Greencastle AARP Chapter #3025.
Mrs. Beaver is survived by two sons: Charles Lee Decker, and his wife Mary Ann, Lawrence, MA, Fred M. Decker, and his wife Marjorie Greencastle; three step-sons: Verdeen Beaver, and his wife Esther, Waynesboro, Donald Beaver, and his wife Pat, Chambersburg, Wayne Beaver, and his wife Karen, Shippensburg; 23 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first and second husband, and step-mother, she was preceded in death by three daughters: Louise Carmack, Peggy Stine, Joan Kauffman; a son, Robert Decker, four grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle, with Rev. Merle Cordell officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman Station, PA. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
