CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Mrs. Ruth Hoffman, 59, of Carthage, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 24, 1975) in University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, after a two months illness. She had lived in the Carthage area for 32 years.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Abbott Andrew Garber officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The rosary will be said at Freeman Funeral Home in West Point at 8 tonight.
Mrs. Hoffman was born in West Point on July 9, 1915, a daughter of Michael and Edna Laffey Clampitt. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She married Lee Hoffman on Oct. 16, 1935, in Carthage. He survives.
Also surviving are the father, of West Point; a son, Leroy, of Carthage Route 2; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Doris) Rhodes, of Fort Morgan, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Wayne (Mildred) Williams, of Augusta; and four grandchildren.
