MARION-Thomas G. "Tom" Motsinger, 67, of Marion passed away at 7:25 AM, June 9, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 12, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Randy Allison officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Military rites will be held by VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147 at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the VFW Ritual Team; envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.

Mr. Motsinger was born on September 21, 1938 in Harrisburg, Illinois to William Howard and Dorothy Anita (Kincheloe) Motsinger. He married Kathryn Atnip-Maze and she survives.

Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Thomas and Toni Motsinger of Jacksonville, Florida, John and Teresa Motsinger of Maryville, and Matthew Motsinger of Collinsville; daughter and son-in-law, April and Scott James of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; grandchildren, Kelly Motsinger, David Motsinger and Mark Motsinger; great grandchild, Joanna Motsinger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Max and Rita Motsinger of Goreville and Larry and Linda Motsinger of St. Clair, Missouri; step-sons, Roger Maze and Tony Maze; step-daughter, Paula Schuetz; nine step-grandchildren; and nine step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Douglas Motsinger; and granddaughter, Zoie Haley James.

Mr. Motsinger was a barber in Marion for many years. He served his country in the United States Air Force and the United States Navy. He loved to hunt and fish, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
