Mrs. Stella Elizabeth Triplett Watson, age 91, Deep Gap, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Glenbridge Health Care Center.

Mrs. Watson was born July 22, 1917, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late June Vonley and Mattie Miller Triplett. She was a member of Corner Stone Baptist Church.

Mrs. Watson is survived by three daughters, three sons, two sisters, sixteen grandchildren, 35, great-grandchildren, 12, great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Otis Washington Watson, Sr.; one daughter, Mary Sue Carlton Johnson; three grandsons, Tommy Matheson, C.R. Carlton and Chris Carlton; six brothers, Clemon, Joe, Hade, Oneil, Roby, and Elmer Triplett, and two sisters Retha Triplett and Ellen Triplett and a great-great-granddaughter, Bailey Lynn Tart.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Watson will be conducted Monday March 2, 2009, at 2:00 o'clock, at Corner Stone Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Proffitt, Rev. Sherrill Wellborn and Rev. Harvey Presnell officiating. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Burial will follow in Mt. Paron Baptist Church Cemetery.
