Nellie, also known as Ellen, was born Jan. 12, 1847, in Vermont, daughter of parents also born in that state. She died Aug. 12, 1886, in Chetek, aged 39 years and 7 months, and was buried there in Lakeview Cemetery.
In about 1867, Nellie was united in marriage to Thomas Rodgers. Thomas was born in July 5, 1834 in Lyme, Jefferson Co., New York, son of James Rodgers born in Ireland and Comfort Sexton, born in New York. He died April 11, 1900 at Chetek, and was buried there in Lakeview Cemetery. His military gravestone is inscribed "Thomas. Rodgers Co. I. 19 Wis. Inf." and that of his wife "Ellen I. Wife of Thomas Rodgers Died Aug. 12, 1886 Aged 39 Yr. 7 M." Their known children, all born in Wisconsin, were:
Frank Warden, b. Jul 1868;
Fred G., b. 1870; &
Harris Everts, b. 23 Apr 1879.
In about 1902, Frank and Harris went to the gold fields of Alaska and were never heard of again.
