Arlington — THERON RUSSELL "Pete" McGOVERN, 93, of Arlington, formerly of Denton, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, in Arlington.
He was born Nov. 9, 1911, in Wise County to Peter Russell and Effie Lee McGOVERN. In 1969, he married HELEN HOLLERS MASSEY in Lake Dallas. She died in 2002.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Denton and the Stanfield Masonic Lodge #217, a life member of Valley of Fort Worth and a 50-year member of the Amalgamated Transit Union: AFL-CIO. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
He was a graduate of Denton High School and attended North Texas State College and Corpus Christi Business School. He worked for the Greyhound Corporation until 1967.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at the Texas Masonic Retirement Home, 1501 W. Division St., Arlington, TX. Interment will be at the Masonic Cemetery.
