From obituary: He was a son of John Sappington, Revolutionary soldier who came from Kentucky in 1803 and settled on a farm on Watson road and Gravois creek, several miles north of the Jack Sappington house.

Mr. Sappington is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Pipkin Sappington, and three brothers, Frank, Bird and Clarence L.
