His mother Frances 1781-1854 died in Texas. Drury Holland Field was named for his grandfathe,the father of Frances, Drury Holland 1754-1826. His grandmother was Sarah "Sally" Turner Holland 1765-1851.

To their union was born: Mary Frances 1839-1893 wife of Isaac Jones, Sarah C. 1840-1858, Andrew Perry 1841 (infant death), Drury Holland Field Jr 1844-1881, Florence 1846-1868, James M. 1847 (infant death), Elizabeth G. 1849-?, Eudara 1854-? and Mattie Lee born 1854-?.
