Doris was a very devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family. She looked forward to holidays and family get-togethers and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her husband, her family and her faith meant everything to her.
She is survived by five daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Dechant of Chagrin Falls, OH, Jean Wurm of New Washington, Christine (Mark) Yosick of New Washington, Sarah (Joseph) Nye of New Washington, and Teresa (David) Faeth of New Washington; two sons, Benedict (Marilyn) Kaple of Summerville, SC and Andrew (Janet) Kaple of New Washington; twenty-one grandchildren, Stefan Dechant, Sarah Augustine, Gregory Kaple, Daniel Kaple, Stephanie Kaple, Matt Kaple, Ted Kaple, Jessica Beskur, Jacqui Carver, Carly Burger, Claire Wurm, Anna O'Brien, Tonya Samuel, Josh Yosick, Christopher Nye, Laura Nye, Luke Nye, Rachael Nye, Nick Faeth; Zach Faeth, and Alexandra Faeth; eighteen great grandchildren, Cole and Emelie Dechant, Agatha, Beatrice and Henry Augustine, Charlotte Rae Kaple, Claire, Drew, Emma Kaple, Isabella Beskur, Ryan Carver, Gianna and Benjamin Samuel, Kellen and Reegan Burger, and Kathrine O'Brien, soon to be joined by twin O'Brien brother and sister; many extended relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Kaple, on July 3, 2007; a son-in-law, Mark Wurm; a granddaughter, Emily Wurm; four brothers, Benjamin, Gerald, Leonard and Jerry Alt; and a sister, Kathryn Wenzlick.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in New Washington with Father Eric Culler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in New Washington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Alzhiemer's Association.
