Dr. Adam J. Franke, 92, of Lincoln, formerly of Newton, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at St. Claire's Manor Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Newton with Father Joe Molloy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of mass Wednesday at the church. Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Franke was born Feb. 9, 1906, in Jasper County, the son of Dr. William E. and Anna (Fisher) Franke.

He was a retired dentist from Newton and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He graduated from the St. Louis University Dental College. He was a member of Newton Council 1704 Knights of Columbus for 50 years. He worked seven years at the state hospital in Bartonville as a dentist.

He is survived by one sister, Anna McCullough, of Lincoln; nine nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.
