Belle Hawkins was the daughter of
Julius Jay Hawkins &
Sarah Belle (Davis) Hawkins.

She was the wife of William Henry Tavener.

NOTE: She and her Husband were cousins.

William Henry Tavener, her husband, was the son of Jacob & Salome K (Hawkins) Tavener.

Julius Jay Hawkins & Salome K (Hawkins) Tavener were brother and sister. Their parents were Able & Sarah (Jossilyn) Hawkins.

NOTE: While Belle's husband and in-laws have headstones, unfortunately she does not.

Mary Jane's notes say born June 1843 in Eaton CO, Michigan.

The Obituary states born 1845 in Ypsilanti, Michigan -- different county and different year.

Mrs.Julia Isabel Tavener widow of a Civil War veteran and a member of the Women't Relief Corps, died at her home at 167 Richmond street at 7 a.m. today at the age 87. Born in Ypsilanti, Michi., in 1845,Mrs. Tavener was at one time a school teacher. For 22 years she had lived in Painesville, where she was affiliated with the First Methodist
episcopal Church.

Born Julia I. Hawkins she was married in Michigan in 1867. She was known to a wide circle of friends as Mrs. Belle Tavener.

Survivors include
four daughters,
Mrs. Katie Ramsey of Willowick,
Mrs. Ettie Garrison of Emporia, Kas.,
Mrs. Jennie Knepper of Benton Ridge, O., and
Mrs. Ina Chapman of Perry,

and three sons,
Alva Tavener of Cottonwood Falls, Kas.,
Frank Tavener and
J.J. Tavener of Painesville.
