Funeral Services honoring the life of Bro. Owen will be at 1 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the Heritage Chapel of The Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Mathew Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Owen was born December 19, 1941, in Memphis, TN, to the late Willie Ben and Edith Laverne Rogers Owen. A Treadwell High School graduate, he continued his education at Freed Hardeman University, Oklahoma Christian College, and Harding Academy of Memphis. On August 5th, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Pat Simpson Owen, who survives.
A devout Christian who began his ministry at the age of 18, Bro. Owen served as minister at West Ripley Church of Christ for many years. Taking interest in cemetery history, especially adding photos and information on "Find A Grave", he also enjoyed crossword puzzles, scrabble, cooking, joking with his family and conversations with anyone. After many years of remaining faithful and fighting the good fight, Bro. Owen entered his home in Heaven, and we are certain he heard the words "Well done, good and faithful servant".
In addition to his wife of 60 years, memories will continue to be shared by three daughters, Deborah Sanders of Dumas, Kathleen Henson (Ronnie) of Dumas, Pamela Woodfin (Paul) of Florence, AL, one sister, Margret Taylor, five grandchildren, Patrick Owen Sanders, Dylan Henson and his love Jayna Street, Jayden Woodfin, Luke Woodfin, and Trent Woodfin.
He is also preceded in death by a son in law, Patrick Neal Sanders.
