Dalton married Maude Steward in Le Mars, Iowa on Dec. 1914, they were bless with four children. Lowell married Doris Holm of Aron, Lucille married Matthew Gale of Akron, Lester married Kathleen Smith of Evergreen, Colorado, Irene married John Smith of Akron. Dalton and Maude farmed for many years he also did carpenter work in the Akron area. Dalton the son of Arthur & Gertude(Gibson)Bellwood. Grandson of Edward & Louisa (Waterbury) Bellwood, Great-grandparents, Joseph & Margaret (Sherwood) Bellwood and Wilson & Esther(Woodward)Gibson. His mother also married Alsop Wakeman in 1874.

DEATH SUMMONS DALTON BELLWOOD SUNDAY EVENING

Rites Held Wednesday For An Esteemed Akron Resident

Dalton C. Bellwood, a well known and esteemed resident of this community, passed away at his home here Sunday night, after being in failing health for some time, aged 67 years and six months.

Mr. Bellwood was born May 26, 1896, in Union county, S. D., and when a child he moved to Akron with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bellwood. This has since remained his home. He engaged in farming and carpenter work in this area. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Akron. He was married to Maude Steward at Le Mars, December 30, 1914, and their union was blessed with two sons and two daughters. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the relatives in their bereavement.

Surviving are his wife, Maude; two sons, Lowell Bellwood of Akron and Lester Bellwood, of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Smith and Mrs. Lucille Gale, both of Akron; one brother, Alvie Bellwood of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Della Orth and Mrs. Cleo Henke, both of Aurelia, Ia.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Rev. Michael Strom officiating. Mrs. Hugh Swift and Mrs. Frances Mackey were vocalists,and Mrs. V. G. Adams was organist.

Casket bearers were Clair McCorkell, Charles Smizer, Francis Gale, Elmer Heeren, Velton Barr, and Robert Root. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
