Clinton: Eva Mary Mollet, 86, of Clinton, died at 11 p.m., Thursday, (August 8, 1996) at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Monday, at St. John's Catholic Church, Clinton. Rev. Father Robert Hoffmann will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at Calvert Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made as masses to the Church.

She was born Aug. 4, 1910 in Bond County. She was the daughter of Leo and Nellie O'Neil Knabel. She married Fremont R Mollet Dec. 23, 1929 in Highland. He died Feb. 18, 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Roberta Bernardi, residing in Miami, Florida; 5 sons: Leo of De Witt; Lloyd of Clinton, Paul of Kingston; James of Wapella, and Ralph of Abilene, Texas; three brothers, Harold Knabel, of Stauter, Wis.; Leonard Knabel, of Decatur; and Donald Knabel, of Lindale, Australia, one sister Ester Grosenheider, of Round Rock, Texas; 36 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.

She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, Wilson Unit of the Home Bureau, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Eva Mary Knabel was the 3rd daughter, 4 child of 8 children born to Leo Wilhelm and Nellie (O'Neal) Mollet.

She raised 7 children along with Fremont and lived most of her life on a farm on the outskirts of Wapella, Illinois.

Eva helped out on the farm by, feeding the animals, making and delivering lunches to the farm workers, tending to her children and was an immaculate housekeeper.

She was also a devout catholic, praying the rosary daily, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Eva loved gardening, raising hollyhocks and tulips, playing cards, ice cream cones, canning vegetables, playing the piano, and the summer visits of her grandchildren.

She shared her life with Fremont, her children, their 36 grandchildren and over 28 great grandchildren and was married to him for over 55 years.
