Ellen(Thornsberry) Smith Bailey Roberts

Born in Kentucky,Apr. 1, 1912.

Passed away April 4,1990 in her home, Antioch, Tn. from Lung Cancer caused from 2nd hand smoke.

She had extremely bad eyesight * wor heavey thick eyeglasses. Had several surgeries trying to correct them.

After her first husband passed away, she was left with 6 small children to care for. There weren't any Social services for help. She litterly ate grass when there wasn't enough food so she could give her children what little food she could get.

After writing to Herman Bailey through a lonely hearts club
She moved from Kentucky to Manchester,Tennessee to marry him. Herman later died from a bad fire in his home.

She was an avid fisher Lady. Love to sew and make quilts,crafts. Always had a vegetable garden.

She was well loved and adored by her family and In-laws.
