Services Held for Mrs. Hattie Evelyn Wood
Mrs. Hattie Evelyn Wood, age 78, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011.
Mrs. Wood was born on November 13, 1932, the daughter of the late Mr. Carl Mitchell and Mrs. Emily Parson Mitchell. She was primarily a homemaker that also worked as a seamstress for a while. In her spare time, Mrs. Wood enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Judy (Connie) Hussey, Ms. Brenda Wood, Ms. Pat Wood, all of Ellsinore, Missouri, Ms. Lorrene Wood and Mr. Dale Shuler of Cedartown, Georgia; 2 sons, Mr. & Mrs. Geary (Linda) Wood of Hiram, Georgia and Mr. Terry L. Wood of Hiram, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; several step grandchildren; several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Mr. Clemmons Mitchell of Powder Springs, Georgia; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ross Wood; 1 infant granddaughter; 2 sisters, Ms. Dean McGaughey and Ms. Nell Garner and 1 brother, Mr. Dennis Mitchell.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Reverend Brad Parkhurst officiating.
Interment followed at Paulding Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Barry Priest, Andy Wood, Tim Askea, Melissa Wood, Perry Shuler and Christopher Wood.
