C. T. [sic] HUSTEAD RITES FRIDAY
Rutledge Man Died Last Thursday at Home of His Brother.

Charles Henry Hustead, 70 years old, died last Thursday at the home of his brother, Robert T. Hustead, in Rutledge.
"Charlie," as he was called by the people of his community, spent his entire life there except for a short time in Montana. He took up the painter's trade in early youth which he followed until last spring, when he became ill of heart trouble. He was known as an industrious man and good citizen.
Mr. Hustead was born in Knox [sic] County [sic] Dec. 17, 1867, being a son of Daniel D. and America Sheckles Hustead. The father died in 1887 and the mother in 1908. His four sisters and three brothers are also dead, the youngest, Mrs. Bessie Hottle, having died in January of this year. He is survived by two brothers, Robert T. Hustead of Rutledge and William Hustead of Virginia, Mont.
There are also a great number of nieces and nephews surviving, among them being Mrs. Violet Mason, with whom he lived for a number of years. He was converted and became a member of the Baptist Church at Harmony Grove in his early manhood.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday at the Baptist Church at Rutledge. T. P. Burkhart preached the sermon. A quartette, commposed of Mrs. Jaunita Givens, Mrs. Nina Phillips, L. M. Pruett and G.R. Kintner, accompanied by Mrs. L. W. Hicks, sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "Asleep in Jesus."
Pallbearers were: G. E. Hendricks, G. C. McDonald, J. F. Petty, W. R. Suter, Carl Oliver and R. D. Westcott. Interment was in the Harmony Grove cemetery.
