Alf Haden Dunaway, 77, of Loogootee died Tuesday (Feb. 3, 1981) in Heritage Care Center, St. Elmo.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in May Funeral Home, St. Elmo, with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Beecher City.

Mr. Dunaway was born in Fayette County, son of John and Martha Dunaway. He was a retired farmer and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. He married Alta Beck. She preceded him in death. He married Helena Ruth Beck Scoles in 1960.

Surviving are his wife; son, Lloyd of Bolingbrook; stepsons, Woody Scoles of Hennessey, Okla.; Buddy Scoles, Joliet; stepdaughters, Carol Scoles of Vandalia; Beatrice Carter of Hillsboro; brother, Jesse of Champaign; two grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

One sister and seven brothers preceded him in death.
