Rose Abbott at the age of 91, died Nov. 5, 2009 at her home in Northfield, NJ. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Feb. 18, 1918 to Richard Sr. and Margaret Glaven. She was raised in Atlantic City. She spent most of her adult life in the Bargaintown section of Egg Harbor Township before moving to Northfield. She and Clarence Abbott Sr. were married on June 20, 1938 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Pleasantville. She was a devout Catholic for over 70 years and lived to serve the parishes at St. Peter's Catholic Church and later St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Northfield. She devoted her life to her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of nearly 50 years, and siblings Richard Jr., Margaret, Edward, Marie, Louis and Dorothy.

Survivors include her son, step-daughter, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her sister, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial and calling hours were Tuesday at St. Bernadette's Church, 1421 New Road, Northfield. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
