He was born Nov. 17, 1954, in Pleasants County, a son of the late Winfred "Buck" and Dorothy Taylor Malone. He was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways, attended Cow Creek United Methodist Church, was a member of the St. Marys Elks 1701 BPOE, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed aquariums.
He is survived by his wife, Karon Steele Malone; two sons, Mark Nichols of Charlotte, N.C., and Allen Malone of St. Marys; two granddaughters, Vanessa and Kylie Nichols of St. Marys; two sisters, Anita Colvin and her husband, Frank, and Eloise Carpenter, all of St. Marys; two brothers, Kenneth Malone and his wife, JoAnn, and Jimmy Malone and his wife, Katherine, all of St. Marys; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Willow Island Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Hickman and the Rev. Randy Dornan officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Island Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2-9 p.m. today at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, and from noon-1 p.m. at the church.
