Samuel S. Zimmerman, fifty-four, 141 Marietta Ave., Ephrata, died suddenly at his home at 10:30 p.m. Monday. Dr. I. G. Wagner, deputy coroner, pronounced death due to a coronary embolism. He had been in his usual health during the day and had had no previous attacks.
He was born in Ephrata Township, a son of the late John S. and Mary Sweigart Zimmerman, and resided in that vicinity the greater part of his life. He was a member of the Ephrata Mennonite Church. He had been employed as a laborer by the Pennsylvania State Highway Department.
Besides his wife, Mary Burkholder Zimmerman, he is survived by these children: John I., Lititz; Dorothy, wife of Edwin G. Erb, Ephrata; Ray, with the U.S. Air Force in Japan; Harlan B., Ephrata; Arlene, wife of Irvin Smith, and Glenn E., both at home; also five grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Harvey, of Bethel; Cora, wife of Noah Weber, Stevens R1; Martha, wife of Norman Weaver.
