MRS. ELIZA THOMPSON OLDEST RESIDENT OF TOWN, DIES AT AGE 93
Port Allegany's oldest resident Mrs. Eliza M. Thompson died Tuesday morning (February 4, 1964) at her home on East Mill St. She had lived in the community since 1900.
Born March 18, 1870, at Wilkes Barre, a daughter of Simon and Frances Agens, she lived in Ridgway until her marriage to Melvin E. Thompson, in Brockton, N.Y. on July 2, 1892, He died 14 years ago.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Evening Circle of Women's Society of Christian service at the church and the Evening Circle of Women's Society of Christian Service at that church.
She is survived by three daughters, Miss Oral A. Thompson, Port Allegany; Mrs. D. A. (Ruby) Campbell; Harrisburg, and Mrs. Wallace Finn (Helen) Finn, Turtlepoint; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A son Clyde proceeded her in death in 1936.
Friends may call at the Gallup Funeral home, where services will be held Friday (Feb. 7, 1964) at 3 P.M. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph B. Kilbura Minister of the First Methodist Church will officiate at the services.
