MRS. GEORGE EDMUNDS DEAD
Mrs. George Edmunds died at her home in this city Tuesday morning, January 15 at 5:30 o'clock after a long illness.
Mrs. Edmunds was formerly Mrs. Minnie Iva ( widow of Frank) Emerson, of Chicago, and was married to Judge George Edmunds at the residence of A.N. Cherill in this city August 20, 1888. Mrs. Edmunds was a woman of kind and gracious manner toward all and possessed a generous and sympathic heart. Early after her marriage to Judge Edmunds they adopted and made a home for Gertrude Lamky, who was recently married to Mr. Spicer and now lives in Quincy. Mrs. Edmunds was happily in touch with all social matters in this city, entertaining frquently with delightful hospitality. But all this came to a sad end when her eyesight failed her and she became totally blind, her paitence and sweetness under this affliction was wonderful. In October, Mrs. Edmunds in attempting to find her way along the upper hall, lost her bearings and fell down stairs sustaining a broken hip and internal injuries from which after weeks of suffering she passed away.
Great sorrow has been felt for both Judge and Mrs. Edmunds in her sad affliction and these last days of suffering.
The funeral will be held from the residence, this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Judge C.J. Scofield reading the Episcopal burial service. internment at Moss Ridge.
