Fred David Hoell, 88, of Port Charlotte, Florida. passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Englewood Community Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1923 in St. Louis, MO to John and Rita (Meyers) Hoell. Mr. Hoell served in the US Coast Guard during WW-II. He moved to Florida in 1999 from Goose Creek, SC. Fred was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Port Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Alice L. Hoell; son: Donald Hoell of St. Louis, Missouri, and a niece: Diana Yanosik of Nesconset, New York. Mr. Hoell will be interned at Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
Officer Fred D. Hoell, Metropolitan Police Department-Traffic Division, retired in May 1959, passed away on August 29, 2011. While no longer a member of the Association of Retired Police of Washington, DC, we did not want his death to go without notice to our members.
