The following poem was found in her Bible.

What Matters
My mother says she doesn't care
About the color of my hair,
Nor if my nose turns up or down,
Or if my eyes are blue or brown,
it really doesn't matter.

And Mother says she does not care
If I am dark or if I'm fair,
Nor if I'm thin or if I'm fat.
She doesn't fret over things like that,
It doesn't really matter.

But if I cheat or tell a lie
And say mean things to make folks cry,
And if I'm rude or impolite
And do not try to do things right
Than that does really matter.

It isn't looks that make one great,
But Character that seals your fate,
And what's within your heart you see
That makes or mars your destiny.
And that does really matter.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14th, at 2 p.m. at the Milford Bellwood Church with Rev. Larry Secor and Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Singers Twila Tomlinson, Judy Tomlinson, and Bonnie Miller, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Ackerman, organist. Casketbearers were Douglas Combs, Ralph Wallace, Wilber Wallace, Donald Wallace, Wayne Wallace, and Clifford Hamilton.

Interment was at the Blue Mound Cemetery with Volland and Son Mortuary in charge."
