Annie Poss, 91, A Native of Platte Cunty.
Mrs. Annie Eliza Poss, Beverly Station, Mo., and one of Platte County's oldest native born residents, died Saturday evening at St. John's Hospital where she had been a patient since last Monday.
Mrs. Poss had been in good health until about four years ago when she began to fail. Her condition became critical two weeks ago.
Mrs. Poss was born in East Leavenworth, Mo., August 13, 1861, a daughter of Thomas and Eliza Copeland Hancock, pioneer residents of Platte County.
At East Leavenworth, on Jan. 13, 1885, she was married to Frank Joseph Poss. Mr. Poss died April 12, 1903. Mrs. Poss spent her entire life in Beverly and East Leavenworth Communities. She was a member of the Christian Church at Farley, Mo.
Mrs. Poss is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Hester Doran, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Henry Alexander, Beverly Station, Mrs. Ben Fulk, Platte City, and Mrs. Albert Jeannin, Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Frank A. Poss, Kansas City, Mo., and William C. Poss, East Leavenworth; 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Davis Funeral Home at a time to be announced later. The Rev. J. O. Malia, pastor of the Christian Church, Weston, Mo., will officiate. Burial will be in the Platte City Cemetery.
The body will remain at the Davis Funeral Home.
