Naomi T. Dare, 80, formerly of LaBelle, Mo., died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Sunset Home, Quincy, Ill. Born May 8, 1923, in LaBelle, a daughter of James and Stella Todd Porter. She married Clarence Dare and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Dare spent her youth in LaBelle and was a graduate of LaBelle High School. During the 1960's, while living in Florida, she was employed at a bank in Naples, Fla. Later, she moved to Plainfield, Ind., with her husband, where they lived until his death. She returned to Quincy to make her home in 2000. Survivors include one grandson, Sean Honecker, Naples, Fla.; one great granddaughter, Paige Honecker, Florida; two sisters, Mary Sue Van Meter and husband, Farrell, Quincy, Ill., and Corrine Hickman, Garland, Tex.; five nephews, Jim Van Meter and wife, Mary, Quincy, Ill., Ronald Van Meter and wife, Sue, and David, Steven and Lynn Hickman, all of Dallas, Tex. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, on February 9, 1989, and her daughter, Anita Honekcer, on March 22, 1999. Visitation and graveside services were held Saturday, May 31, in LaBelle Cemetery, LaBelle, Mo., with Rev. Charles Sharpe officiating.
