John Marshall Magill, son of William and Elizabeth Magill, was born on a farm in
Montgomery township December 29, 1854 and departed this life October 2, 1926,
aged 71 years, nine months and three days. On February 8, 1882 he was married to
Rosa Duncan and for four years lived in Arkansas City, Kansas, until the death
of his companion, August 6, 1886. From this union one son Leslie Paul survives
him. On August 31, 1887 he was married to Mary Etta Ford and for 39 years they
lived on their farm east of Flat Rock. To them were born three daughters, Ethel,
Edith and Velma.
