Born Nov. 22, 1871 near Brandon, Knox county Ohio, he was the son of Samuel & Sarah Ellen Smith Neibel. He lived in Newark for 60 years and was retired 20 years. He was a carpentry contractor and a charter member of the carpenters union. His wife, Nellie, died Feb. 6, 1958.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles F Headley of Brushy Fork and Mrs. Hazel M Constable of Ormond Beach, Florida, and ten grandchildren. A brother and a son are deceased.
