A lifelong resident of Waterville, he operated Pomerleau's Market on Kennedy Memorial Drive 10 years prior to his retirement three years ago. He previously owned a grocery business on Water St., 30 years.
Pomerleau was a member of Elm City Barracks, Veterans of World War One, and a charter member of Bourque-Lanigan American Legion Post.
He leaves his widow, the former Alva Rancourt; two sons Charles J and Robert L of Waterville; three daughters Mrs Constance Tardiff, Mrs Joyce Bolduc and Annette Pomerleau of Waterville; three brothers Erve of Waterville,Clayton of Shawmut, and Bernard of Fairfield Center; a sister, Mrs Priscilla Cote of Waterville; 12 grandchildrens, three great grandchildrens, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday from Notre Dame Church, with a burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the Veilleux Funeral Home.
