William Brownlow Crumby was born September 5, 1868 in Hardin County, Tennessee, son of Hugh Crumby and Sarah Drake.

The 1870 Federal Census for District 12, Tennessee (Hardin County) shows Brownlow Crumby, age 1, born in Tennessee; living with his father Hugh Crumby, a farm laborer, age 26, born in Mississippi; and his mother, Sarah, age 14, born in Tennessee.

On March 4, 1889 in Hardin County, Tennesseee, William married Sarah A. Rinks was born August 8, 1872 in Hardin County, Tennessee, daughter of Elisha Ephraim Rinks (1821-1909) and Sarah Sarah Paschall (1842-1921).

William and Sarah ultimately had seven children: Sarah Magnolia Crumby, Bertie Mae Crumby, Robert Lawson Crumby, Ross A. Crumby, Daisy D. Crumby, James Walter Crumby, and Ruby Lois Crumby.

The 1900 Federal Census for Civil District 7, Tennessee (Hardin County) shows William B. Crumby, age 31, born September 1868 in Tennessee; and his wife, Sarah Crumby, age 27, born August 1872 in Tennessee. Living with them were three children: Sarah M. Crumby, age 10, born June 1889; Bertie M. Crumby, age 7, born May 1893; and Robert L. Crumby, age 1, born May 1899; all born in Tennessee.

The 1930 Federal Census for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, (Oklahoma County) shows William B. Crumby, age 61, born in Tennessee; and his wife, Sarah Crumby, age 58, born in Tennessee. Living with them were three children: James W. Crumby, age 24; Ruby L. Crumby, age 21; and Robert L. Crumby, age 30; all born in Tennessee. In addition, Robert's wife, Ilah M., age 22, born in Oklahoma, was living with the family.

William died August 21, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County) and was buried in the Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma County). Sarah died September 8, 1946 in Oklahoma City and was buried in the Rose Hill Burial Park beside her husband.
