Edwin Arthur Casper, 81, of Idaho Falls, died April 15, 2004, at EIRMC.

He was born July 30, 1922, in Menan, Idaho, to Alma Edwin Casper and Lucy Sellers Casper. He attended Utah schools in Salt Lake City, Ogden and West Weber, Utah, and in Idaho in Menan and he graduated from Midway High School. He worked for Garrett Freightlines until he joined the US Army in 1944.

On November 14, 1940, he married Vonda Schneiter in Idaho falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 1, 1950. He farmed in Menan, where he purchased the family farm from his mother. His wife proceeded him in death.

On May 1, 1995, he married Christina Youngstrom-Oswald in Menan.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as secretary of the mutual, Explorer adviser, stake missionary, bishop's counselor, mutual superintendent, teacher's advisor, ward clerk, young men's president, scouting coordinator, church farm manager, high priest group leader and ward extraction coordinator. He enjoyed square dancing and round dancing. Edwin especially enjoyed his grand children, his family and good weather.

Survivors include his wife, Christina Casper of Idaho Falls; two daughters, Marilyn Killian of Idaho Falls and Ann Marie (Bruce) Barnes of North Fork, Idaho; one step daughter, Sherill (Delbert) Newman of Ammon, Idaho; three sons, LaMar (LuDene) Casper of Gillette, Wyoming, Val (Sheryl) Casper of Driggs, and Richard Casper of Roberts; four step sons, Robert (Gena) Oswald of Lehi, Utah, Larry (Kianna) Oswald of Twin Falls, Danny (Yvette) Oswald of Preston, and Gary (Hydie) Oswald of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Lila Summers of Ucon, Idaho, Louella Sassi of Phoenix, Arizona, and Darlene Newbold of San Antonio, Texas; forty three grandchildren; and seventy two great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lora Lee; a son Rex; and a brother, Douglas; and grand daughter Michelle.

He was buried in Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
