Clyde William Mace was born to William Tosco Mace and Ella May Mulberry. His sister and brothers are Dorothy M. (Pearson/Peck), Robert E. and Roger.

Clyde married Anna Ellen Quigg on January 5, 1938, in Shelley, Bingham County, Idaho. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Asian Theater. He was a farmer south of Idaho Falls until 1973. He worked in construction and with Amcor until he retired in 1981. Their children are Janice Lynn (Moore), Vernon Clyde, Barbara Ann (Bottom), Jolene (Jeffery), William Craig and Douglas.

Clyde was a member of the Shelley Community Church. His hobbies included gardening and golfing with friends. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy.
