CHRISTOPHER - Byrl L. Clapp, 83, died at 11 a.m. Sunday Jan. 31, 1999 at home. Services will be at 1 p. m. Thursday in Brayfield Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with the Rev. Larry Cook officiating. Burial will be in Horse Prairie Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 6 to 0 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Clapp was a welder. He was a member of Sesser Masonic Lodge No. 918 and the American Legion and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Olive Branch to William and Ada Mae (Miller) Clapp. He married Marie Sample on March 15, 1941, in St. Charles, Mo. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Irlene Berglund of Christopher; one grandson, Danny Berglund of New Jersey; one granddaughter Laurie Berglund of Macon, Ga., one great-great-granddaughter, Tori Berglund of Palmero, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
