Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Rodney Michael Abernethy will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church,485 W. 1st St., Dr. H.T. Rhim, Pastor and officiating. Mr. Abernethy will repose at the church for public visitation from 9:45 a.m. until the hour of service. He is survived by his loving wife, Phoebe R. Abernethy; daughters, Denita M. Holmes, Priscilla Johnson and Lizzie Massey; seven siblings and six grandchildren. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery under the direction and care of Roger D. Sears Funeral Directors, 5317 Shen Ave.
