MRS. I. F. LOY
Passed Away Tuesday Morning At Eleven O'clock After Long Illness
Had Been Sufferer for Many Years of Heart Trouble and Tuberculosis—Funeral Thursday
At a little after eleven o'clock Tuesday morning Mrs. I. F. Loy passed to the great beyond, after a sickness reaching back some twenty years. While she was bedfast for only the past five or six weeks and only dangerously ill during that time, nevertheless she has been a sufferer for many years, and if has been her iron constitution that has kept her alive so long since she has been bedfast. Her ailment was tuberculosis and heart disease.
Had Mrs. Loy lived until Nov.14, this year, Mr. and Mrs. Loy would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs. Loy, nee Rebecca Grant, was born Nov. 7, 1843, in Fayette county and was in her sixty eighth year. On Nov. 14, 1861, Fayette County, Illinois she was united in marriage to I. F. Loy and to this union two children were born, O. S. Loy of Mattoon and Clara who died in infancy. Besides her husband and son, one brother, Anthony Grant and two sisters Mmes. Mariah Rhodes of this city and Clarissa Severns of the western part of Effingham county also survive her. Mr. and Mrs. Loy have been residents of Effingham for forty two years.
