Arthur Ernest "Ernie" Duran was born in Taos, NM to Joe E. Duran Sr & Flora (Cardenas) Duran. As a child the family (siblings: Joe Jr, Ambrose, Fred (Ferdie), Tony, Maria, & Rose) moved to Cokeville, WY. Ernie served his country in the US Army during Vietnam & in 1969 married Barbara Nettles of Robertson, WY.

On September 28th 1972, He was killed in a single vehicle rollover accident near Woodruff, UT--but wasn't pronounced dead until arrival at the hospital in Evanston, Wyoming. It is possible that he overcorrected and lost control on a curve. He was ejected from the vehicle on the highway and killed on impact while his truck rolled into a fence & burned.

He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Dotrice (July 1970), and Bambi Emily Ernestine (June 1972). He was a tall funny & artistic man... and is still missed and loved dearly.
